This M1 chip is very similar to the current MacBook Pro as well as the new Mac mini, MacBook Air, and the new 24-inch iMac. That makes Apple’s exceptionally thin and portable tablet truly as powerful as a MacBook Pro.

Looking at the performance measured by the standard Geekbench 5 benchmark test reveals a huge leap in computing power. The single-core score increased from 1,117 to 1,704, while the multi-core score increased from 4,690 to 7,014.
